Network Visualization of #StopFencingGwadar
I noticed a trend on Twitter which claimed that the government was planning to fence all of Gwadar, where the truth is that it was only planning to fence Gwadar Airport & Gwadar Port premises which is standard security protocol for sensitive facilities around the world. The Dissident Baloch Groups and PTM (which were exposed by the EU Disinfo Lab recently) were also part of this trend. So, I gathered the data and mapped it to show the strongest nodes (accounts) and determine who the most influential ones are.
You can see that Mahrang Baloch’s account has a label which is larger than others. This is because she is one of the most influential ones in this trend. Khurram Dehwar debunked the lies perpetuated by the purveyors of this hashtag, thus being featured within the graph (albeit by himself). The rest are the usual suspects such as Karima Baloch, Afrasiab Khattak and BSO Azaad.
